My motto now is hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Have been building up supplies (water, food, batteries, protection, essentials, etc) to last at least 60-90 days in a shut-in scenario (assuming no power). I've seen enough documentaries of what will happen in a pandemic scenario in the US (where people freak out if their cell service goes down for 10 minutes) to know you don't want to be out and about looking for food/water etc. If nothing happens by the end of the year I start consuming everything LOL. Nothing lost - but at least I have peace of mind if things start going bonkers.

Last time I did this was at the start of the financial crisis in 2007. We have come to learn that we were one day away from a nightmare scenario but the FED stepped in to flood the world with money. There is no FED to stop ebola. So I'm preparing.
