Excellent post! If you got your data from past issues of MT, then look at those issues when the market bottomed in 2008/2009 and see what he said about dollar cost averaging... I seem to recall he took DCA off and said wait for a test of the 2009 low which never came so he finally got back into DCA when the market was up significantly from its 666 low. I don't think he identified a "buy level" until 1100 or so...


Kirk, unfortunately I don't have any 2008 issues of Marketimer, and for 2009, I only have the May, Oct, Nov and Dec. issues. I do have some Special Subscriber Bulletins here and there.

Too bad. I'd love to go thru every issue from 2008 and 2009 and do what you suggested.

Perhaps Honey_bee has already done this, as she has an amazing collection of Marketimers.

Kirk, that's quite a gem of an article you found on Genworth Financial from this year. I wasn't aware this stuff was still going on as recently as 2014.
