Good detective work! What is also illuminating is look at the "individual issues" with SPY in double digits and it is listed as a "hold" not a "BUY hands over fist" ... 100 points later... he's still looking for weakness to buy. Also, in that issue, I seem to recall the overall market was not a buy either even though it was "the buying opportunity of the century" according to some on CNBC. I remember buying some GE for about $6 and some FNSR split adjusted under $2 about that time.
