I think SI Dmitry got his feelings hurt because of the hugely negative response to the update. Imo, his actions have become irrational for that reason. For instance, I received this message on the Plastics to Oil board:

How about this latest SI upgrade? Like the "board logo" feature? LOL

I related to the poster, as you have done here, the post on the New Feature Discussion board which got me banned. That reply to the poster was deleted and I received the following pm warning from SI Dmitry:

The reposting of administratively deleted content is grounds for suspension from SI.

The post which got me banned was a reply to this sentence from a post by Dmitry:

We hope to have an improved version of the new Subject page up this evening tonight that takes into account much of your feedback.

Now, if I were to repeat my reply here, it would be the same action for which my post on the Plastics to Oil board was deleted and for which I received the warning; however, it would also be the same action that has already been allowed here. That makes no sense. If SI Dmitry's actions aren't consistent, they aren't rational. It's that simple. The reason given for banning me from New Feature Discussion was "Forum for feedback, not insult". My only response to that is Dmitry needs to grow a thicker skin.

It received 22 recommendations. I don't remember ever seeing a post receive that many recommendations. Imo, the response should have been an admission by SI Dmitry that the update was an obvious failure, and the update should have been immediately scuttled. Take a new sheet of paper. Start over. It seems Dmitry's ego wouldn't allow it. I particularly like this sentence from his post to New feature discussion board users:

It is not our intent that this New Feature discussion board come to resemble so many other discussion forums on SI, where groups of individuals reinforce and support a particular viewpoint not commonly held, and continually disparage other viewpoints, in this case ours.

I think 22 recommendations aptly describes the viewpoint that is commonly held so it's clear SI Dmitry is upset because posters simply won't "reinforce and support" his viewpoint.
