It is hard to predict what will happen. Mainly because it is hard to see where there is a win for Putin. Putin seems to be a reasonably intelligent person. He may not be the greatest mind that Russia has ever produced, but he usually seems to understand the limitations of the situation. He did gamble on Georgia. But, Commander Codpiece turned out to be all hat and no cattle. Did he even threaten sanctions? For the most part, he recapped his famous reading of My Pet Goat...
