Bill, you are absolutely right. But I tend to forgive the "good guys" who make this boner. Basically, what gets my goat is the combination of pretentious pomposity and bad grammar. To revise an old saw: If you're so smart, how come you can't write your way out of a paper bag?

At one point, I had hoped to put together an "anthology" to illustrate this point. Maybe I'll get around to it after I recuperate from all the head blows the market has given me lately.
