Based on what I have been reading and hearing, it seems that AMAT has already said about 3 weeks ago that they are comfortable with earnings estimates for next quarter as well as next year. There was another article posted here last week from some L.A.(I believe) paper that had interviewed the CEO and he didn't seem to nervous by the killing this stock is taking. He said that it creates greater oppurtunity some how next year, even though ASIA is very weak now. Go figure!! But I was worried as well about AMAT warning, but I think they would have done it already if it was true. Maybe, tax selling? If brokerages weren't happy going in to next year then they wouldn't give Long Term buys on the stock. EX. Merrill cut short term and maintained LT buy. Friday, Lehman cut near term and reiterated LT with a buy and $63 12 month target. That makes me happy. Screw the near term. We know ourselves without them that there is a problem. Brokerages are still happy LT which is all I want to see....
Good luck!!!
