Hello Dragonfly,

IMCX is on my radar screen for some time... I know that healthcare businesses have been among the most reluctant environments to comply with the latest ITs: while the so-called "paperless office" was introduced as early as in the 1980s, healthcare executives and doctors in medicine have yet to envision the "paperless hospital"!
Telemedicine is another big opportunity to develop cutting-edge healthcare information systems.
But do you think that the US market alone will be sufficient for IMCX to enjoy a 40-50% growth?
After all, the same IT issues are addressing European and Asian hospitals as well.
Further, I think that there is an ethical obstacle to a widespread acceptance of these document management systems: confidentiality and security when dealing with highly sensitive medical records. While the new business paradigm is all about the largest broadcasting of information, HMOs are still entrenched in the former paradigm: selective access to sensitive information and a reluctance to make possible for anybody to get a full medical profile of any individual.

Regards,

Gustave.
