Well, they are monopolist so they are not punished for crappy product. That's why they can force people to upgrade every 3 years too. (Don't give them ideas, but they could force people to upgrade every year...) It's possible that the product is too complex and not well designed and implemented. My SO works in another company that does accounting+stuff product for vertical industry and it's a mess. And they don't have millions of customers with different stuff in their files like Quicken does ;) So complexity, ineptitude and monopoly, IMHO. :)
