Different reasons, but it's clear to me that, based on your experiences, you think reconciliation is impossible and that the "other side" has to change before things get better.

I've been in the middle of way too many arguments to think that the "other side" will ever change before you do. Gotta ask yourself whether it's worth taking a stand.

And in your case, I can already tell that you, like Bentway, are ashamed to be white. That hardly leads to anything productive, but it's possible to turn that feeling around and make progress.

P.S. - I don't know that much about you, but based on your responses, especially that gem where you wished everyone else changed (or die) before you do, I know enough to come to my conclusions.
