I've been to lots of McDonalds that were extremely busy late at night. Never had any real concern about going there. Why do you think these four people should have even thought twice about it?

...maybe because times have changed............I said on this board that I take my lead shot loaded cane (needed during very infrequent gout attacks) with me now every time I have to go into Poughkeepsie. I've read enough about these knockout games and figure to be prepared to defend myself just in case. Poughkeepsie is about 40% black. On impulse, I stopped at a Wendys on Main St.(mostly black employees/black mgr/ mostly black customers) in Poughkeepsie after coming from a Home Depot around 8PM on a Friday night. I did not have my cane.with me. So I walk in, get my order, and sit down directly facing one of two big screen TVs with CNN playing. I didn't take notice of about a half dozen (maybe 15-16 years old) blacks "carrying on" at the far end of the eating area. So I'm eating a burger/fries/coke and one of these blacks walks up from behind and stops right by me. He's punching keys on his smartphone and never once looks me in the eye. He says "Oooh...that looks good.......you gonna eat all that?.....all the while punching keys on his phone. It kinda took me by surprise but I finally said......"yeah....what do you think I'm here for?" He then returns to his bunch.. I think for a few seconds and then get up and change seats 90 degrees so I can still see the TV but so my my back is not facing them. If I had my cane with me, I would have rapped it real hard on the table as I changed seats. Nothing else happened but I'm not so sure something would not have had I run into this bunch out in the parking lot. Now, I had a distinct uncomfortable feeling and I never ever recall feeling that way before. Did I overreact?.......maybe... but I don't think so......... just in case, I added three more ounces of lead shot to my cane and will not forget it again.
