Iraq was not exactly paradise before we went in. Still, one cannot say with any confidence it would have remained the same. Hell, Saddam might be dead anyway by now, and it was not about to improve when the kids took over.

Saddam was responsible for a lot of death and destruction in the neighborhood. And one cannot reasonably presume that the bad stuff that is happening now wouldn't be happening now anyway.

I think the suggestion that the Mideast today is solely a product of the Iraq War is pretty naive.
