Activists claim that the development will only serve the upper class establishment and will not benefit the lower classes. They have a point, to be sure. What developer wants to build low-income housing? Totally illogical. The lower classes will backfill into those spaces vacated by the upper classes. Volume will drive lower end prices down (Or reduce the inflation) regardless of what level of housing is built. I've been experiencing this nightmare via my daughter that works in the city and makes too little to live in any but the lowliest neighborhoods.
