hello 2mar$, i used to be concerned about my kids having to compete against the kids from mainland china as the 'them' (there are always 'them' in human interactions - strange :0) are hungrier, more applying, less to lose, etc etc etc, and are simply more numerous, and seemingly playing under different rules.
sometime ago i 'retreated' or re-grouped back to the basics of their foundation, being reading, writing, and arithmetic and developing (by definition, 'a') passion even as i try to prepare a more solid economic foundation upon which the kids may build on.
observe that the macro times does not make economic foundation-building easy. in fact the econo-foundation-construction now seems quite difficult if not near-impossible. in truth, perhaps, this is the best time to do econo-foundation work because there is little point in econo-foundation work if everything per fiat money inflation bull market just keeps going up.
i suppose we do need to leverage / pivot the fiat money inflation, else foolish, even as we continue fear the inevitable deflation. in the arena we find ourselves, the fearless folks are the ones w/ nothing to lose, and they are dangerous.
the good news may be that we still have quite a bit of time to do the econo-foundation building because the world while messed up is actually still quite viable.
in the mean time, before the euro collapses my wife must let go of the euro we exchanged for w/ hkd at the airport before the euro goes to zero :0)
we just got done w/ this piece of build-patch-renovate-build-some-more foundation work

the overnight stay allowed for view of sunrise, and appreciation of ancient logic of the natural 'moat'

jack turned four

but otherwise continues w/ his grin-through-life approach which so far works

cheers, tj |
