I am a recent visitor to this board and its postings. I recently got into AMAT at 32. My brother in New York is in the research department in Merryl Lynch. According to what he is saying, many of the fund managers are currently sitting on enormous cash reserves in order to jump back in the market in January 1998. However, he also said that the tech sector may not be the entry point for the re-entry. He gets the feeling that tech stocks will be six months further down the road in order to create "more realistic" valuations for the NASDAQ. Just a little info that may be of use to anybody
