Can't argue with your strategy qchris. I'd do the same but we have capital gains tax laws here which say buying and selling = trading = taxable. Buy and hold = no taxes. I don't figure I'm good enough to trade, pay tax, and still come out ahead. So I just pig out in the panic troughs.

While I'm a great fan of MSFT in general and Bill G in particular and have no problem with his alleged monopoly, when Qualcomm takes over a good chunk of brain space, which is the limiting factor in the new world of electronic wireless photonic gadgetry, MSFT share price will do a big tumble. By that I mean, the Anita-TM, will provide so much functionality that people will have done their screen watching time and they'll go play golf instead of sitting down for a session on the MSFT powered mainframe. Nearly everyone will be happy with a simpler system.

Of course the really worrying thing is that the antimonopolists don't understand that all business is seeking a transient monopoly. Any business that isn't enjoying a transient monopoly will be getting bond rates as a rate of return. Competition will have eroded their margins to commodity status. Even buying an icecream is a monopoly. You want one. You look around. There is only one where you are. You have to walk another 100 metres to another. So right there where you are standing is a monopoly. So you pony up the money they ask, provided it isn't off the planet.

Same with Microsoft. Windows 95 isn't a monopoly. You can buy OS2Warp, Apple, use a net computer, read a newspaper, type on a typewriter, use a quill pen. What is wrong with Janet Reno's brain? Didn't she get enough kicks at Waco?

If she doesn't like Microsoft's "monopoly", she won't like Qualcomm's "monopoly" on their particular version of CDMA. She will turn her sights on Qualcomm once she has trashed Microsoft and send the USA back to the stone age, which is where it will deserve to be if she doesn't defend intellectual property rights.

Then she'll attack all the cancer cure "monopolies" and steal the years of development work. Pretty soon, nobody will bother trying to do anything as the fascist state of USA will simply steal it. The only monopoly in town which really is harmful is her monopoly! She and the Feds have an escape proof monopoly. But I guess she isn't too worried about that.

So get off Microsoft's leg. Go gnaw on Reno! Before she eats you.

PS: Just reread! Wow, that should raise some blood pressures.
