<<<< the European question is whether they get stalled in Japan's economic situation.>>>>

Probably, Japan's trouble is their aging population where the old folks stopped spending. That is also happening all over in Europe now - especially places like the Ukraine. Ukraine is losing population (like Japan) and is not the only country in such a fix. How do you increase the GDP when people turn old, stop spending and die? It is absolutely untrue that Japan has not stimulated their economy - they have stimulated every way imaginable and yet their economy is stagnant. BUT stagnate is not a bad thing in such a case. What is so awful about Japan? Show me! Other than the awful nuclear accident. ........Oh yes, another factor in Japan's case is that they have no resources. Same problem is happening in much of Europe.

The economic robustness of an country is so much more complicated than Krugman would have us believe.
