US Fracking Boom: Sand Producers Rejoice Emes Energy Partners (EMES) & US Silica (SCLA) bidnessetc.com It takes up to four million pounds of sand to develop one well through fracking and well output can increase as much as 30% if more sand is used as discovered by Texas-based oil and gas company, Pioneer Natural Resources ( PXD). Fracking companies are using more sand to develop onshore wells also in an effort to boost well output. Has to meet standard mesh sizes etc.. Carbo Ceramics produces a just that, a ceramic substitute proppant but now seems sand is getting the nod carboceramics.com
