It looks like the earth may be having its Drake Equation/Fermi Paradox moment. I doubt it. Oh, it could get pretty nasty, depending on how dumb Putin is. Oh its not just Putin. Its Isis in Iraq and Syria ...........and al Noura in the Golan Hts and the mess in Libya..........along with all the other hot spots in the world. And then there is Ebola. Things are looking pretty grim. It would be interesting if Putin actually decides to nuke something. If for no other reason that the most heavily populated part of Russia will get fallout. That is going to play well at home... Well, Putin didn't think thru the implications of giving the rebels anti aircraft missiles that could take out an airliner at 30K feet...................... Unfortunately, Merkel's attempts at giving Putin at way out was rejected. Somehow, I doubt that Putin really wants to start a nuclear war over Ukraine. Or over sanctions. But who knows? Yeah, Merkel isn't as savvy as she thought she was. Putin is backed into a corner and he's very mad........hence the nuke threat. He wants his way at nearly any cost. Maybe he thinks nuking Krakow is the way to go........apparently he's threatened it before. This could be one of those inflection points where everything changes Yup.
