I've heard the term "dumb walking" used for people who are not watching where they are going while staring at a phone screen. Lots of people have died walking into traffic. Just recently here in SD a 16 year old walked off a curb and was flattened by a semi. She walked right into it... her brother tried to grab her but it was all over in an instant.

Since then I've observed other behaviors related or worse...

• People walking into traffic without looking... I wonder if this is related to the mindset of unawareness of the reality around you when staring into a cell phone

• Dumb skateboarding... I'm seeing more and more of this... particularly at the boardwalk in Pacific Beach but occasionally I see these guys in the middle of streets

• Dumb bike riding... this one seems particularly dumb in that bike riders are so fragile even when aware

• Dumb driving... don't need to say much about this... potential to kill other people
