Cliven Bundy's Son Pulls His 5 Kids From School Because They Can't Carry Weapons

Bundy took exception to a rule that forbade them to carry knives.

MESQUITE (KSNV MyNews3.com) – One of the sons of embattled rancher Cliven Bundy’s son has pulled his five children out of various Clark County School District locations after a dispute with school administrators.

Officials at Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite told Ryan Bundy that his 15-year-old daughter was not allowed to bring her pocketknife to school.

Clark County School policy states that pocket knives are not allowed on school property, as they are considered weapons. Bundy doesn’t see a knife as a weapon and explained he’s taught his children it is essential to always have a knife with them. "I've taught my children a knife is important to have,” he said. “It's a tool that you use, and you need to have one with you at all times."

The Bundy children said that they use knives for their daily chores on the family’s ranch, not as weapons.

Ryan Bundy doesn’t see what the big deal is about any of his children carrying a knife, and said the school district is trying to make his children look like delinquents. "They're trying to make my child a criminal – and any other child a criminal – for simply having something, and that is not right," he said.
