" any child throwing a chair or spitting on another student should be suspended"
Nice in theory, but apparently not in practice, at least for white kids at that school.
“My son threw something at a kid on purpose and the kid had to be rushed to the hospital,” another parent said. “All I got was a phone call.”

"Teachers need to deal with ALL children, regardless of color, the same way-"
Again, nice in theory, but apparently not in practice.
- "That's so aberrant I can't imagine why you'd post this"
Because, in some places, or a lot, there are 2 different standards for dealing with young children, based on skin color. You might not like it, and you might be color blind, but unfortunately, many teachers aren't you.
"Black children represent 18 percent of preschool enrollment but make up 48 percent of preschool children receiving more than one out-of-school suspension, according to the study released by the Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights " |
