I owned Apple while it ran up hard, sat out the past couple years but was invested in the broader market, which has out-performed it. But I'm not sure how that's relevant to Apple's potential to increase profits via mobile payments. Secure NFC, choice of credit cards, rewards, etc. are all out there. Lots of things Apple could improve upon, but they need to make concrete improvements beyond marketing if they're to be profitable in this space while entering a crowded space.
