Some interesting statistics to contemplate.

Note the following counts of "Recs" (Post recommendations) on the first page of the "Message Preview" screen on the "Welcome New SI Members" thread:

Format = Number recs : Poster : Comment : Link

9 : MetaComet : "The New look sux big time" : Message 29665146
10 : TEDennis : "Good grief ... More logo machinations?" : Message 29694445
8 : TEDennis : "Following up on the broken search link" : Message 29694461
8 : TEDennis : negative comments on logos and login prompt : Message 29695379
8 : LoneClone : negative comments on logos and speed :
Message 29695732

The most recommended posts on that thread deal with the "new look", logos, or performance. And they are all negative feedback, with suggestions on what to do to improve the situation.

It seems many other readers agree with the opinions expressed in those posts.

So, WHY isn't there something being done about it?

The poster with the most combined "Recs" on that list is TEDennis.

Coincidentally, that poster (me) was banned from that thread, with no warnings being issued.

There is a similar scenario on the "New Features" thread. Most of the highly recommended posts deal with logos, the "new look", performance, etc.

Several of my posts were highly recommended on that thread, too. I was also banned from that thread. Again, with no warnings.

What's wrong with this picture?

Hey, Knight Sac Media (SI's owner) ... if you ever get serious about turning SI into a top notch investor forum that attracts new customers, let me know. A professional's insight can go a long way towards helping you meet your goal.

Can anybody guess what my first recommendation would be?

Sure is a pretty day.
