What he actually is quoted as saying which, IMHO, sounds worst is that:

"Because the currency crisis affects everybody, our upside
is gone. If we can achieve the lower part of the range it's a
spectacular job," said company chairman Sim Wong Hoo of the 10
to 15 percent revenue growth target Creative had set for itself."

That sounds like if the company meets the lower end of the range, it will being doing spectacular....leaves lots of room for non-spectacular performance. I know he was talking about revenue growth but it's got to effect the bottom line as well.
