the coconut is beginning to get the expressions just right, and experimenting with semi-off-frame object of cat's attention
... and progressing from cats, owls, monkeys, sunflowers, ... to ... snails
erita is tee-ing up her continuing work for the purposes of (i) doing a show, and (ii) donating proceeds to some animal charity group, all as part of the community service requirement of her new and ohwhoaweegeewhizbang school
i like the school (learn at own pace - erita is reading at 2 grades above her age and so hangs out w/ older kids even as all kids learn at own pace from two teachers in every room; full ocean view; bi-annual international aptitude and other testing; no other testing; not a lot of homework of the rote sort, though have projects to work on; etc etc, in the neighbourhood, walk to school w/ other kids and adults through the park; etc etc)
the school is certainly international. the coconut is one of three ethnic chinese kids out of 25 in her class. rest comprised of swiss, swedish, german, korean, japanese, french, belgian, ... presumably the swiss parents mostly serve the macro refugees which are comprised of french and belgian sorts.
am guessing the unusual and large (5) swedish contingent may be diplomatic in nature.
the germans, korean and japanese presumably are where they need to be per employer prerogative. of the three ethnic chinese kids, one from mainland whose father in charge of some outfit's foreign direct investment initiatives, and two including coconut from hong kong. as international goes, difficult to go further. other class rooms have kids from usa, india, russia, etc etc.
even better, due partly to the coconut, her little brother jack (foundation year) got into school as well. both attend the new campus of a 3-campuses school. immediately outside the campus is where we the parents can choose to sit in ocean-side establishments to wait to pick up kids whilst sipping wine and / or engaging with spanish tapas, french anything, chinese yum cha (tea and dumplings), english high tea, swiss anything, etc etc
all good and hopefully not yet as good as it would ever get
the school shall produce an annual book of photos of kids and activities so that the kids can remember well.
are independently investigating sending the coconut to the outbacks for one year program of team work and survival w/ another geewhizbang school. at the interim end the coconut may not be able to get into college due to the structure of her education, but doubt it would matter whether she attends college or not.
in the mean time, the coconut continues w/ her 4-times per week ballet practice, and once per week group program w/ university-sponsored mind specialists on becoming true girls (self awareness, self confidence, ways of the world, etc etc)
