Suspected burglar shot outside gas station By Mike Glenn \| September 5, 2014 \| Updated: September 5, 2014 6:52pm A suspected van burglar was shot after he tried to run down the owner in a gas station parking lot in Conroe, authorities said. The shooting happened about 3:15 p.m. Friday at a Citgo station in the 15000 block of southbound I-45, Conroe police said. Police said a man pulled up to one of the gas pumps then went inside to pay. He saw a man going through his van when he left the store. The van owner confronted the man, who then got into his own car and tried to run him down in the parking lot. Conroe police said the owner then pulled out a pistol and opened fire. The man was struck by gunfire then ran into a pole at the gas station. The burglary suspect was taken by ambulance to Conroe Regional Medical Center, where his condition wasn't known later Friday. The investigation is continuing, Conroe police said. chron.com
