Another possibility ... For the future - imagine if they could make the entire surface into a solar panel

Would be quite a trick but just imagine the image being produced perpendicular to the glass (going out)
But light going in gets bent to solar collectors - perhaps not to fully charge, but to extend.

Then they could always put in motion to electrical thingys and then everyone will be waving their hands around like chickens in the sun to gt their watch charged! (Thanks Clean)
