Paul: I think we're in agreement on today. The NC is dead meat (actually, just a niche system) as it's defined today. Intel's business is booming and will continue to boom for the foreseeable future (forseeable for me is only 18-36 months -- but it could well be longer).

Wall Street is recognizing that Intel's valuation shouldn't be based on commodity semiconductor comparisons. This was the mistake that the street made in the second half of 1995 which many have capitalized on as Intel's share price has soared.

The only difference of opinion is one of strength of concern about what Intel is doing to address the problem that raised the X-terminal up from the dead (in the form of the brain-dead NC) -- the disenfranchisement of the 70% of the U.S. population without a PC. I'll keep being concerned -- but won't sell my Intel until I see evidence that the used PC market won't address this population or that someone else comes along with an answer for this population.
