These were targeted and probably resulted from a fishing exploit or something similar. Malware/viruses/break ins are BIG business. Organized crime is investing in a big way. Getting caught and convicted is virtually non-existant so they see it as free money. I conjectured in an earlier post that Apple was going to pay them and make it worth their while. I hadn't considered the additional angle of money savings from another layer/better security.
