Jay Carney Goes from Lying to CNN to Lying for CNN

September 10, 2014 by Daniel Greenfield

Sums it up pretty well.

Considering how much time CNN spends acting as Obama’s PR people, this should be a comfortable transition. Jay Carney was lying for Obama back when he was working for Time Magazine and promoting Obama.

In 2008, while still working for TIME, he praised Obama’s “refreshingly non-ideological declaration about how best to govern” and called it a “welcome change from the ideology-first recent past.”

Now he’ll be lying for Obama at CNN.

The bad news is that no one actually watches CNN so Jay can just come down to the studio unshaven and not wearing any pants and no one will notice because the only news channel watched less than CNN is Al Jazeera.

Former Obama spokesman Jay Carney will join CNN as a political commentator, moving back into journalism after his time at the White House.

“Jay’s unique experience as both a journalist and a White House press secretary make him an invaluable voice for the network,” Sam Feist, CNN’s Washington bureau chief, said.

Not ‘voice on the network” but ‘voice for the network’.

Language can be important and revealing especially when used by people who understand its technicalities.

So Jay Carney is now a career propagandist who smoothly sidles out of spokesman and media analyst gigs while maintaining his political loyalties. He isn’t going back to being a full time journalist.

Instead he’ll come on to explain why Obama’s falling approval ratings are a good thing.

Despite talks with MSNBC, even the flack network apparently turned him down. So instead he’ll be going to the Missing Malaysian Plane and Blackfish network.
