Bin Laden himself acknowledged it: What despondency? bin laden periodically released videos up until 2007 taunting the US. How are those acts of despondency? Of course, the Bush administration would suggest he was sick and dying, putting him in one place; then another.....usually a mt cave when in fact he was living comfortably in Pakistan. That doesn't sound like a despondent man to me. And during the years after 9/11, al Qaida was responsible for bombings throughout the world.
