Then he had to develop a longer term strategy for Syria.......one that is far more complex.
Of course he HAD to, but he didn't and he had no intention of doing just that until it was forced upon him.

Still the same old spin. Claim the existence of "nuance," claim the existence of a "long-term strategy," when clearly none existed.

So what if the situation is complex? Duh, of course it's complex. Pointing that out isn't "nuance." Using that as an excuse for a lack of a strategy is lame.

If it were easy, anyone could do it, but Obama isn't just anyone. He's the POTUS. It's his job to know what's going on, to appreciate the complexities of the situation, and to get all of the resources at his disposal to present strategies and options for him to choose from.

And even if he doesn't have a specific strategy yet, it's really stupid to say so in public. I thought Obama was supposed to be smarter than Bush and less prone to gaffes, but apparently he isn't.
