You're saying he "reasoned" it would be an improvement ???
I don't think so.
I think he saw it used in places like FaceBook and, being a programmer, decided it would be fun to write an algorithm that would convert those detail date/time stamps (like 9/17/14 10:27AM) into something really cool (like "yesterday").
I suspect if he had used an advisory board made up of SI users to preview his change plans, the majority of the board members would have balked at that particular idea.
They would probably have balked at several others of his "enhancement" plans, too.
And now you know why there isn't an advisory board.
Hey, Dmitry ... if you un-ban me, maybe I wouldn't be so negative about your actions. You might even learn something valuable from several experienced software developers "out here".
Note that "software developers" aren't just programmers. Software developers conceive, architect, implement, and support products and enhancements.
And, they know the user is always right.
And, they don't censor people just because they don't agree with them.
And, ...
Oh, never mind. If you haven't figured it by now, you never will.
Pity. What a waste of talent.
