Perhaps not even within your capacity to envison how many 100s of music conservatories there are around the world from here to China. And there are 1000's of classically trained muscians, singers & dancers that lead extremely disciplined, temperant lives drawn by shear love, passion & enthusiasm for these arts. You post one ex drugged out rocker that converts, very good for you but you probably haven't ever been to a real music conservatory or music dept at any good university have you? Religion has nothing to do with it, the enthusiasm for the art does, that is the Hellene ideal starting with them long long before there were "Christians". The training in these schools & universities is so intense it transcends many monastic schools or koran/bible schools easily, takes years & years of dedicated practice. Like for good scientists who are another disciplined group that are usually very humble & temperant people, or at least do not resort to extreme violence when contradicted.
