This is the 5S/5C miscalculation all over again. Apple must have learned the wrong lesson from last year-- instead of concluding that most buyers are attracted to the $650 price point, they should have learned that most buyers will gravitate to whatever is the more expensive phone :) It's a great problem to have.




I maintain that the 6+ is ridiculously big.


The interest in the iPhone 6 Plus on-line and among early adopters has been even stronger than I expected. I am sure though that there are large number of non-techies that will be upgrading from the 5 that will agree with you.

I think the key to the 6 Plus is that you cant think of it as a smartphone. It is a microtablet that just happens to also have a phone function.

One interesting comment from a 6 Plus owner is that he could now see himself buying the Watch. He likes the 6 Plus but getting it out to check messages has become much more onerous.
