When you're in a deep hole it's best to stop digging or else you'll end up in a cave....Or in your case either stop diggin or take some chinese lessons, cause your already half way to China roto roooter ! <heh>
Thought you'd like those ancient Hermes depictions of the original "Good Shepherd" from 500BCE, real artifacts from real times, nothing new under the sun, son. ( now easy to rest my case, fully proven)
Glad to introduce you to Plato, quite the perfectionist, hard to ignore because they were all over the condition & inner world of the human psyche long before any biblical writers had the sophistication. In fact, that's exactly where all the sophistication comes from that makes sense, paul knew exactly where to look. As the founder of this movement, he was a Hellene Jew after all who takes this movement directly to Hellene cities, no big surprise there.
Hermes , the Good Shepherd 500BC:
He is the lord of the herds, epimélios and kriophoros, who leads them to the sweet waters, and bears the tired ram or lamb on his shoulders, and assists them with the shepherd's crook, the kerykeion.
Painted terracotta cult image of the Kriophoros from Thebes in Boeotia, ca 450 BCE ( Musée du Louvre).

Sometimes it was a calf he was carrying, here is the Moschophoros of the Acropolis, ca 570 BCE.

The Christian "Good Shepherd" 300AD..... (800yrs later )
Good Shepherd from the Catacomb of Priscilla, 250-300
