Hi Mike:

Re: the article you mentioned

The article says: "And we're hearing rumblings of continuing weak server sales in the fourth quarter as well," DePalma said. First of all what is meant by we're hearing rumblings..."? And secondly who is this DePalma? The artcile refers to him as Don DePalma an analyst from Forrester (whatever that is)! The key word here is analyst! Since I have a very low opinion of all analysts (regardless of them having the same views as I or not!), I view them as nothing but a bunch of con-artists! Therefore any opinion I give you with regard to this article will be extremely biased against everything said in that article!

However, my personal thoughts on the server sales in the 4th Quarter, based on the software work I am doing and from what I have seen to be the trend in the industry can only make me conclude that the demand for servers have increased dramatically (both for UNIX servers as well as NTs working with UNIX). And since Sun is in the lead position I can only assume that they are (and will continue to) enjoy the most revenue gains.

I think we just have to wait till the Q4 results. If I am wrong then I say well Addi you were worng a little in your assumptions since my primary job is not being an analyst, however if I am proven to be correct I wonder if Mr. Don DePalma (the so called con-artist/analyst) can truly fit his foot in his mouth and will our (at least my) curosity with this regard ever be answered!

Regards,

Addi Jamshidi
