Between Rockchip and Spreadtrum, I think Intel is running up the white flag in mobile. I believe their strategy is shifting to defend the home turf of PC's against ARM, and they view the best way of doing that is to extend x86 into mobile, but not play in that low margin biz themselves, other than picking up the incremental fab volume. Rockchip, Spreadtrum, et al can than eat low margins just like all of Intel's PC OEM partners do. Intel will be happy if they can keep good margins in the PC space, and somehow keep ARM out of that.
