Intel's Quick Web Technology uses several techniques, notably
compression and caching, to speed up the downloading process.

To date in the Web space, Intel has been active in e-commerce,
forging relationships with a number vendors to bring e-commerce
solutions to small businesses, Agatstein said.

E-commerce partners include BigBook, CommerceWave,
Four11, Icat, Intershop Communications, OnVillage
Communications, and ViaWeb.

Intel is relying extensively on the expertise of the channel to
promote its small-business initiative, Agatstein said.

"We have begun incorporating small-business material into the
Intel processor dealer program, through which we provide training
three times a year on a worldwide basis," Agatstein said. "In the
United States, we provide this training in 40 cities."

Beyond its products, partnerships, and channel activities,
Agatstein said Intel is embarking on an evangelical mission to
spread the word about the benefits of technology for small
businesses.

Recently, it created a small-business Website
(www.intel.com/business/small), a resource guide to products
and services relevant to small businesses, and a small-business
roundtable program.
