Intel's Quick Web Technology uses several techniques, notably compression and caching, to speed up the downloading process.
To date in the Web space, Intel has been active in e-commerce, forging relationships with a number vendors to bring e-commerce solutions to small businesses, Agatstein said.
E-commerce partners include BigBook, CommerceWave, Four11, Icat, Intershop Communications, OnVillage Communications, and ViaWeb.
Intel is relying extensively on the expertise of the channel to promote its small-business initiative, Agatstein said.
"We have begun incorporating small-business material into the Intel processor dealer program, through which we provide training three times a year on a worldwide basis," Agatstein said. "In the United States, we provide this training in 40 cities."
Beyond its products, partnerships, and channel activities, Agatstein said Intel is embarking on an evangelical mission to spread the word about the benefits of technology for small businesses.
Recently, it created a small-business Website (www.intel.com/business/small), a resource guide to products and services relevant to small businesses, and a small-business roundtable program. |
