9/26/14 Contest update In a roller coaster week, although large-cap biotechs managed to hold their own, smaller-caps had a tougher time. So it’s not surprising the Contest median lost more ground. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 3.43% YTD (vs. up 6.44% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 22.04% YTD (vs. up 21.53% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.04% YTD (vs. up 9.65% YTD a week ago). DIEGO’s portfolio, up 69.62% YTD, remained in the Contest lead, but second place WATCHIT’s’s portfolio, up 69.03% YTD, is a mere smidgen behind. A bit further back, third place DEWDIL’s portfolio is up 62.90% YTD. At Friday's close, 26 of the 46 Contest portfolios were still in the black, while just 9 of the 46 were beating the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (CEMP) is down -12.11% YTD. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.) Portfolio adjustments: None (All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.) Have a relaxing weekend biotechies! And to those celebrating the Jewish New Year, L’shanah Tovah! Peace & good health, Bulba
