Thanks for the link, Ryan.
It's when you put stress on it within a tight pocket, getting it wedged somewhere and needing to put a little force on it to get it out, etc. that it will gradually warp over time. It has only been a week since the release of iPhone 6, so the "gradual warp over time" shouldn't take too long to duplicate.
There are some reports of the iPhone 6+ not sitting flat on a tabletop after a week of being in one's pocket, but if that's the case, we'll definitely hear more about it in the coming weeks.
I think CNN genuinely tried to bend the phone without fear of breaking it. I mean, if they broke it, what's the big deal even if they had to return it to Apple? Just pay the full price of the phone. Meanwhile, they'd have a story, and that's worth much more than $750, no?
I see Samsung and others making fun of the bent phone, but there's a reason why iPhone 6 set new records in terms of pre-orders and initial sales. It's because the Android competition sucks, period. Hence these guys have a real incentive to keep this controversy going.
