what do u thinik? MOT?

MOTOROLA INC. (MOT) 58 +2 1/8. Shares of semiconductor and cell phone concern continue to trade up this afternoon as Gruntal & Co's Mona Eraiba makes positive comments
regarding the outlook for the wireless communications industry. According to Ms. Eraiba, she expects Motorola to experience a stronger 1998 than 1997 as she sees the
telecommunications sector continuing to expand at a rapid pace in the coming year, which should continue to bode well for this telephone cell phone maker. While Ms. Eraiba
recognizes that the Asian turmoil will lower growth rates for the communications sector by several percentage points, she believes that these reductions in growth will not cut
into market growth by a significant amount. Motorola generates 11% of its total sales from China, 7% from Japan and less than 5% from Korea and other smaller countries. In her view,
"communication investments by Asia will be the last to be cut." Accordingly, Ms. Eraiba hasreiterated its "strong buy" rating on the stock which has helped the issue overcome the
selling pressure evident in other communication and tech stocks earlier today, although this selling trend has recently reversed course. This positive outlook feedback has helped the
stock today, yet shares of Motorola have a lot of ground to make-up, having fallen more than 19% since early October, and nearly 36% from its 52 week high of $90 1/2.
