Instead of the medieval ideas that everyone were just sinners & fundmentally fallen creatures, the Classic ideals returned totally reenergizing Europe pulling it out of the dark ages. With a popular notion of so much more human progress could be there to discover. And it is exactly those major sesa changes we see in the renaissance that later would find the ideas of sociological & cultural evolution start have its beginnings & roots.
Not everyone subscribes to your debased, evil, fallen world nonsense, which seems to be a core idea you project. And there are no "false" religions because for their times the Romans & Greeks or Egyptians took their gods every bit as seriously as any Hebrews or later Christian, it was real for them. And what they produced from law, gov't, science, philosophy & art was certainly real and it too evolved over time. We see the influences of that Classical world return & become that which the Renaissance man dreamed of recreating, a world dedicated to the sciences, arts & beauty (philosophy)
And thats when sciences & art really take off, when medieval Christianity starts to wane unlike what you think happened, sorry to burst another one of your bubbles.
