[Criteria] I run fundamental scans that encompass a lot of the list of 14 you posted on the Charts for Quick $$$ thread, except with some different values. I run 2 actually--1 for "emerging growth" companies and one for larger companies. Each typically produces 50-100 names from a 7000 stock universe. I take these and plot a giant matrix of other fundamental parameters where I generally look for accelerating trends, rather than absolute values. This further narrows the list down to a reasonable-sized "watch list" which I apply TA and industry group screens to, and eventually I get buy candidates (this all assumes a strong, uptrending underlying market. Since we don't have that currently, I don't bother running the FA scans, and trade based on what the overall market is saying). I base my trade direction (long/short/cash) on the broad market measures, which right now are cycling between cash and short. I don't base shorts on fundamentals (technical only) and I don't short in solid up markets (the old "don't fight the tape"). BTW, did you see the fundamental data sheets I generate (on my website). I could post these for stocks that there is a consensus interest in, if you think it would be useful, but they take a while to generate because I have to do some legwork (i.e. more that just "enter ticker", "done").
