| | | Ryan, I already posted about my problems with the Motorola Droid Bionic, which was several years back.
I can't say much about the Galaxy Note 4, but in general I find that Samsung takes a shotgun approach to innovation. They cram every feature they can think of into their wide range of products, but they forget to focus on quality and usability. Their approach is the complete opposite of Apple who likes to focus on just a few products at a time.
Hence while Samsung can poke fun at the larger iPhones as well as the upcoming Apple Watch, they'll never find themselves in the enviable position of people waiting in long lines for the "Next Big Thing" they keep talking about.
By the way, I find it hilarious that the Android fanatics who brag about breaking free from the grasp of Apple are actually defending a company like Samsung which is arguably worse than Apple and Microsoft combined. If you once feared having to welcome Bill Gates or Steve Jobs as your new overlord, you have no idea what sort of nightmare a world dominated by Lee Kun Hee (or his heirs, given that Mr. Lee is ailing) will look like.
Tenchusatsu
P.S. - Speaking of the ailing Mr. Lee, Korean conglomerates rarely hand over the reigns of leadership gracefully. There's always turf battles, boneheaded decisions, and politics involved. I predict that Samsung in 10 years will go the way of Sony, and with it Korea will go the same way as Japan. |
