I think buybacks are an inefficient use of capital -- give me the cash instead if you have enough to buy your own stock... that way, I can buy more of it if I want, or buy something else at a better value and better future total returns... just my preference... If a company can't think of anything better to do with its cash (or worse, borrows money to buy back shares), I can think of many many better uses for it.
