Absolutely laser sharp beyond contradictions & to the heart of it. For what did we see happening in Israel again in modern history at the inception? The secular powers were pumping the past to bolster & engender tribal national unity behind the Macabbean/ Massda/ Moses fictions & hero fables. Just fulfilling the same Darwinist goals & psychological platform it had done 2200yrs before, for that is what religion is used for, centralizing power & cohesion of the tribes. I would have just supported the Jewish cause for the obvious Humanistic reasons, but again like in Islam the religion was used to create that jolt of unquestioning military zeal, exactly what we saw in that expansion after Mohammad & again today right in front of your nose with ISIL. This is the main function of religion & it is always probably 90-95%% materialist based ....unless you are a monk in monastary then its only maybe 85% cause you & the monks are all still living in the material world.
