No one's comparing ISIL with Christians today, you are always playing the dodgy drama queen & persecuted sufferer. One could easily point back to 1000yrs of bloody Christian history & point fingers but what is the qualifying difference from Islam? That answer have already given you, the Greek/Roman Classics returned right when they were being banned in Islam. There was a Renaissance & refreshing of the human spirit away from the superstitions you seem so fond of defending still.

The one way to strike a blow to the heart of fundmentalists, is admit once & for all those histories were all fabricated fables , keeping track of Jesus is fine but before that almost everything is totally suspect. Even Josephus doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, he was just lost given what we know today.

Its sad but true, the same fables you would defend give these mugs their sense of historical superiority & power based on fables fantasies, which was exactly what the original Hebrew kings had in mind. Beware mine enemies, "my Musa God will strike thee down & I shall be his sword" nonsense. Take away that fable & flaunt that in their faces, you take away their power.

(though most Jews wanted to be far & away from that hyper zealout melieu & stayed in the more active, free & benign Hellene cities.)
