That date/time formatting issue was bugging me so much that I considered revamping my world famous message archiving tool to circumvent the issue.

The best part about the tool is that it displays only TEXT. None of that graphics BS. And, no ads. It's pretty darned fast.

It harvests the posts from user-selected subjects from various investment Forums, then builds its own local database. It allows access to historical posts when you're disconnected, and provides for a lickety-split search.

It has most of the features you would expect in a bargain basement personal-use-only tool, except that it's read-only. I never had a need to update, because it was primarily for offline research and rationalization.

But, I decided not to update the tool, because it would require too big of an effort for very little return on investment.

Sigh ...

On the other hand, there are some fairly robust, freebie, text-only bulletin boards out there that could be installed on a friendly server and put to use as an alternative to putting up with some heavy-handed administrators at a certain investment forum we all know and love.

In fact, I just so happen to have one of those simplified bulletin boards in use running on a blazing fast server. It's a small system I built for a specific project I started a few years ago.

Hmmmm ...

Have I mentioned lately that I think censorship sux?

Sure is a pretty day.
